SoundJam
If you have a mp G4 and do lots of encoding. You must get Sound Jam 2.5.1.
Encode speeds 7x-12x . (2x 450mhz.)
Sound Quality issues:
Do NOT use the EQ - use the realiser plugin and sound quality will be equal to audion.(EQ window must be closed).
Skins converter can change all of your favorite skins.
Anyone who tells you that sound isn't as good with SJ probably has the free version which won't come with all the goods or they're just not configured properly.
G-force & Whitecap. Best visual programs available.(a must see)

I Just wanted to share my thoughts for the final time. I always here complaints about sound. Hope I've shed some light on the topic.

Oh! I do have Audion. It's a solid little unit . Sounds great!

These are the only Mp3 players I have used. Any others I should try?
Anybody know of any other good fast encoders? MP support?

It's funny you said all this only a few hours before Audion 2.0 was released!

Audion now has most of the features you mentioned above and then some! And you can use SoundJam plugins with it too! (Read: G-Force and WhiteCap)

This is great, because I'm a fan of Audion, but have to use SoundJam out of necessity for G-Force and WhiteCap!
