I'm looking into different remote desktop solutions. We currently use timbuktu. I've been tasked to find other remote access software that doesn't require the end user to install server type software.

What is your company using? Some Ideas would help out greatly

So you're looking for a solution that's cross-platform and is pre-installed on Windows and OS X (and linux?)? I'm not sure such a thing exists.

Your best bet is probably VNC, no install is required in OS X (the built-in remote desktop server will work), and it's an easy install for Windows and Linux.

Not really. I'm looking for something that I can access using a web browser on windows that would use something like Active X to allow me to access a users machine.

TB2 used to have a web plugin many years ago but they dropped it. Some flavors of VNC running on a host can be accessed via a web browser using Java.

For OS X, use Apple Remote Desktop. I think you can use the Admin version for controlling Windoze boxes, tho I forget how.

VNC will work with the remote desktop administrator. We use VNC to admin our PC's through Apple Remote Desktop.
