Searching for a Home Depot in Evanston, Chicago's nearest northern suburb. I need to do this instead of walking to the one down the block because it's illegal to sell spray paint in the city, but that's a different load of horseshit.
I know there's one there, I just forgot where it is.
Apple Maps: I type "home depot e". Apple maps is smart enough to put "Home Depot Evanston" in the autofill. I choose that. No results.
Google Maps: I type "home depot e". Google maps is smart enough to put "Home Depot near Evanston, IL" in the autofill. I choose that...
Well, knock me over with a feather. It has results. It's on Oakton. Thanks, overlords.

Methinks just entering "Home Depot" would have got you exactly what you wanted.

C'mon, try harder people.
First sentence of the OP is me stating I'm looking for a Home Depot not in Chicago.
Likewise... I entered in what Apple Maps suggested.

I tried "Home depot Evanston", and got the expected result (2201 Oakton St Evanston, IL 60202-2740)
Also works with just typing Home Depot e and the selecting the entry HD Evanston.

Obviously, someone in the Apple Map department saw the thread.

I'm sure that's it.
Apple maps has been 100% for me.....way better than my updated Garmin Nuvi.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I've had inconsistent results with Apple Maps with minimal search terms, but if I put in a full city/state, I get decent results. Apple Maps' search bit has always been sensitive to the fact that Cleveland and Canton aren't just in Ohio (even if the user doesn't know that).
