IIRC, there was an issue with some of the early 9600 pro's that shipped with the Rev A Dual 2.0 G5's. I believe Apple replaced the cards.

Can anyone recall what that was and describe it to me?

I had one of the bad cards.

The problem was that the screen stayed black on cold days (or in cold rooms) because some connectors were out of spec. Once the Mac had been turned on for a while (and it got warm inside the case) you could restart and everything worked fine.

One call to Apple, they acknowledged the problem and the card was replaced within two days.

Thanks!

When I got my Dual G5 in Sept '03, I promptly put a 9800 pro in its place.

I'm wondering if I should try to get a replacement for the 9600 it came with before the warranty expires.
