Well the topic pretty much sums it all up. When I click on Dreamweaver MX 2004 (in the dock or finder) it will bounce a few times and the triangle appears under it in the dock for a second, then the triangle disappears and the app dies. This is all before the splash screen shows up.

To see what I mean I took a small screen-video (533k): Click

I tried re-installing dreamweaver from the original install disk, this didn't work. So I checked for a updates from Macromedia, I downloaded and installed the newest (7.0.1) version, this didn't help either. Any suggestions?

Please help, I need to update my site as well as my Dad's company site.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried trashing the Preference files?

Yeah, i did an archive and install a few days ago... But I figured re-installing Dreamweaver would replace any files that were missing.

I usually try trashing prefs first, but for some reason i haven't done that yet
I will try that now then post back with results.

Thanks for the suggestions.

[EDIT] The prefs trashing didn't help.

I am inetrested to know what the definitive resolution to this problem is...it looks like it has effected everyone running MX 2004 who upgraded to 10.3.8

I'd also like to know why this kind of crap happens with Macromedia apps on a regular basis? This will not be the first time I had to completely trash and reinstall the suite just to get it to work.

I ran into the same problem about a month ago after a clean install. All the trashing prefs or reinstalling will not help.

The answer is going to Macromedia and doing a search. They have a small program to download that corrects the problem.
