I have a QS 733. Im thinking of getting the DR111 Pioneer drive. Some people have told me to get an external firewire DVDRW drive as its faster? Is this true? The external drives are double and triple what the internal would cost me. Is the speed difference that great? The pioneer I looked at is 16X I believe.

Thanks for any help.

I don't think the DVDRW drive you are looking at is fast enough to saturate the ATA-33 bus. I don't think an external drive would help your speeds any.
