I am hoping someone here can answer my question.

I am at school and have the following issue. There are several intranet sites at our school (for example http://helpdesk brings us to the university helpdesk.

HOWEVER, I have noted that I have no problems accessing these sites from my mac when I am connected to the port in my room. BUT when I connect my Netgear Wireless Router to the port, and then connect to the router, I lose this capability.

I am guessing this has to do with the DNS settings, but I can't quite figure this one out.
The DNS server is 192.168.10.66 when I am wired. So I went into the config of the wireless router and set it to use the same DNS server. I also went into my network settings, under airport, clicked the TCP/IP tab and set the DNS there as well. But I am still not able to get intranet sites to work.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

O
B unce!

Try setting your wifi router to bridge mode. The intranet access may be governed by MAC addresses, and it may be seeing your router's MAC address. I think a device acting as a bridge won't transmit its MAC, only those of its clients. (I could be wrong.)
