Not anymore...I bought Mac OS X Server 10.1 via ADC for $99... but they no longer offer that.

You need to pay a full $499 for the 10 client license box

10.2 was available for $250 or so for EDU. If you look on the Server page at apple.com you can purchase their 3 year license for server with EDU discounts. They'll have the EDU version of Panther server on the site soon I'd imagine.

I want them to come out with iServer - "The server for the rest of us"... a consumer-centric server that looks cool sitting on a bookshelf.

( Do I really NEED to show the <sarcasm> tags for this...? )

heheheh...

If Apple is going to charge $499 for the 10 user server version of Panther, people are going to freak out...

We are talking about schools that have really jumped on this... not businesses.

MUCH cheaper then Windows or even Linux (when considering the cost of paying someone)

Okay good, I'm glad I'm not the only one concerned about this. I fear that Apple may be pulling something dumb and greedy since Panther Server is listed for Edu. departments but not individuals.

I work as a network tech at the public schools where I live and we are looking into upgrading the servers. I guess price isn't all that big of an issue but it would be nice to get some sort of discount.

Hmmm, couldn't find it yesterday...

I see it now... but only for the University, not for personal...

Interesting... Has it always been that much for the unlimited version?

To the best of my memory, educational price for server has always been 1/2 retail.

That's great... I overlooked the info.

I'm interesting on the licensing on Panther Server vs. Windows. and Linux for college.
