Now here's something I never thought I'd actually see happen; according to the WWDC sessions, it seems Apple has finally rewritten the Mac menu system in Cocoa for Sonoma, finally eliminating one of the last really visible (occasionally in pretty unexpected ways) remnants of Carbon lingering in the OS.
Anyone remember all that Carbon vs. Cocoa debate way back in the day?
Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
I remember the squabbling when Carbon didn't make the 64-bit jump. And you weren't the only one who discovered Apple had 64-bit Carbon internally. Adobe got burned hard, along with M$ i think.
