They're not mine. I found a link on an Amiga board (of all places).

Some of them are quite interesting.

I noticed this thread as I was watching my server logs get quite a few hits from the above pic . There are some other pics at http://www.danamania.com/vhacks/

I have a few more laying around the HD here, but suffer from terminal laziness. One day I'll pop them online

Absolutly amazing, does anyone have links on the steps they took, or anything else interesting like this. I would consider doing it if someone had advice on what they did, or at least what type of things they did to get their machine in this state.

Given the title "virtual hacks", I would say that the method of getting their machine to look like that was photoshop.

If anyone's interested, I've shuffled the vhacks around a bit into Gallery instead of my own rather simple php pages. Thumbnails make it a bit nicer

I nearly cried when I saw that 17" Powerbook with the full keyboard. Everytime I go into the Apple store and see the real 17", I think "Yay, speakers. Because no one hooks their laptop up to external speakers at home, and no one uses headphones with their laptop when they want good sound in a public place."

I don't know why they didn't just put a full one on in the first place. It would make the computer so much more usable, especially for people using programs like After Effects, Final Cut, etc. on the road.

Yep. Virtual hacks. (e.g., PhotoShop job)

There isn't enough volume for all of the necessary items.

There are a couple of clues in the picture: notice the right speaker grill... You'll see a break in the pattern... In the Dock, you'll also notice that it isn't centered on the right side of the display...

Nice try

The pattern break looks more like a compression artifact than a mistake and I've got my dock pinned to a side corner too.

Aw, come on Some Toast... We're talking PhotoShop TiBook big time. You can tell because the hinge isn't broken!

Can you share how to pin the dock to a corner (as opposed to centered) on a side?

Thx.
