Anyone tried installing 10.2 (6C115) on pre-G3 beige macs?

tried it on my 9500 with G4/350 - no joy.

I see the white Apple on the splash screen, then before the spinning daisies appear it bombs with some garbage across the middle of the screen.

I figured something like this would happen, just wondered if anyones had more luck.

That's the kernel panic screen for 10.2. I haven't tried installing on anything previous to a newer iMac so I wouldn't know about a 9500. I'm guessing you'll have to perform some type of hack to make it work. Good luck..

who made your upgrade card? i remember some manufactuers posting workarounds for this sort of thing on earlier OS X's being installed on unsupported machines, some of the solutions I think revolved around the cache speed on the card, others required an installer add-on from the manufacturer.
i look in your general direction

It's a PowerLogix card, and has 10.1.5 running on it just fine.

wonder if Ryan Rempel will have a solution

installed 10.2 (6C115) just fine on the old 9500 after using Ryan Rempel's new XPostFacto utility.

That's good news... if my 7500 has hope of running Jaguar, there's another upgrade card in it's future....
OS X: Where software installation doesn't require wizards with shields.

I have 10.2 running on my 8600 G3/500, Radeon. Nice little speed boost from 10.1.5, so far it seems to be working pretty well.
