It's likely to be changed after the 'press event' tomorrow.

Word on the street is they will be introducing new iMacs, possibly new MacBooks and Mac Minis.

Macbook pro is going to get thinner, a new chipset, no Blue ray option yet.
All models will have high res LED backlit displays and larger LED Backlit trackpads.

New iMacs too.

I don't think so, they just did a major refresh with the MBP, they are using a new chipset (Santa Rosa) why would they release a major refresh only a couple of months after a major refresh.

I meant chip speed not chipset, they need to keep up with everybody else, its not just a question of when they last updated.

Technically it's the Intel Mobile 965 Express chipset. "Santa Rosa" is the new name for Centrino, which is the processor, chipset, and wireless card - the MBPs still use Broadcom wireless cards.

Sorry...just clarifying.

I am not as tired of "Hello iPhone" as I am about there being nothing but iPhone junk on the main page. I mean, I love the iPhone and I'd have one if I didn't just get a RAZR with Verizon, but I think Apple is glorifying it more than it needs to be. The iPhone built up plenty of hype before it went on sale without hardly any advertisement, why start now?

They just updated the MBP on June 5. Apple has NEVER introduced a new update this fast, just for chip speed reasons. It is a question of when they last updated.

The iMac has been. Apple had just released the last G5 iMac upgrade (to include the iSight) when they pulled the Intel iMacs out and replaced it with those.

You could like, not open it until you find out for sure tomorrow. If they update them, send it back. Not sure I would be able to do that.

I doubt the MacBooks will get updated. If they do it probably won't be to major.

Yeah, seriously. You need to hold on to that sucker for a day and be sure it's not upgraded.

Apple doesn't normally advertise so much that there entire main page is entirely devoted to it.

Well, there is the "Hot News" feed in there. That's not dedicated to the iPhone.

apple doesn't usually have such a "necessity" of a product. can you really blame them? i'm pretty stoked at where their stock is priced. i can suffer through clicking a link to get to some other content once i see them hyping the iPhone.

I agree that the iPhone is a killer product and will be great for Apple, but honestly almost everyone who watches TV or uses the internet knows about the iPhone. I can't walk in a mall with my friend with his iPhone without getting swarmed.

The iPhone is unlike any other product in Apple's history. The success of it is incredibly important to Apple. Its still Apple's most talked about product at this point. Expect the iPhone to take up a lot of Apple's energies for the next couple years.

And like others have said, the main page will probably change tomorrow, at least for a short while.

Could be. I'm just going off my experience with Airport and Airport Extreme (802.11g) cards (which do use Broadcom chipsets) - they may have switched to Atheros for the 802.11n Airport Extreme card...either way, it's not actually Santa Rosa in the MBP.

They could start a "What's on your iPhone" series, like the Powerbook ads of old.
First one I'd be curious to see (via Daring Fireball):
