Was just emailed a Quark document dating from roughly 1994: InDesign refuses to open it.

Type XDOC, creator XPR3

I need text extracted from the document and was wondering if anyone here had the capability to open older Quark docs for this purpose.

Conversion to an InDesign doc would be ideal, but I might have to ask for copy-paste-email of some article text from the Quark doc.

Many thanks in advance.

1994 would be Xpress3. ID should be able to open it. At least CS and CS2 should. Dunno about CS3 and 4. I have CS and I'd be more than happy to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I don't have Quark anymore.

Westbo, I think the file has been extensively worked over at this point. My best guess is that it has damage which keeps it from opening as it should in those programs (it dates back to the mid 1990's). 2 people have used extraction software to pull text from it, however.

Thanks for your offer!!!
