Placing all bets....
I think RE5 should top the charts, followed by Pokemon, GTA, Killzone and maybe Madworld.

@attach rate junkies
The PS3is seeing higher attach rates than XB360 on some multi-platform titles. Seeing as how that should matter a lot, i think developers should plan future projects accordingly</end sarcasm>

I love it when people use percentages to 'spin' the facts in their favor. it's quite pathetic really

I stand corrected. Neither GTA: CTW(NDS) nor Madworld(Wii) cracked the top 10.

It's not a spin, it's a fact, that needs to be looked at closely.
The PS3 does have a higher attach rate on this multi-platform titles, but doesn't that make sense? Far as I know the PS3 has less exclusives and first party titles, and further, the response to the first party titles has been underwhelming (Killzone 2 was outsold but SFIV last month, RE5 this month)). So if you're a gamer with a PS3, where else are you gonna go?
It also means that if you're a third-party developer considering porting a game to the system (from 360), you know you won't need quite as large an installed base to move a similar number of units.

A well-timed article.
MadWorld Sells 66K In The U.S., Sega Seems Pleased
Despite a respectable Metacritic score of 82 percent, the M-rated MadWorld didn't exactly explode off of the shelves when Sega released it last month. The stylishly violent first offering from Platinum Games only managed to push 66,000 copies. Not a huge number, but still higher than Sega's other M-rated title, House of the Dead: Overkill, which saw 45,000 copies sold in its debut month. Still, Sega seems pleased with the results, telling Venture Beat:
"House of the Dead has done very well and has absolutely met our expectations. The first set of data for Mad World is very encouraging, as well."
I suppose when you are releasing an M-rated title on a console that's been embraced by the American family you've got to keep those expectations realistic.
I wouldn't mind seeing the numbers for Dead Rising.

According to Gamespot, it sold 500,000 in its first two weeks.

More numbers to throw around.
Is it be, or does the 360 debuting with a 4 game tie ratio sound insane?

Not sure if this had been posted yet :
The company also had good news from the Xbox 360. It sold 1.7 million of them this quarter, a growth of 30 percent year-over-year. That already leaves it ahead of last year's sales with a full quarter to go.
From this article.

Edit: I wonder if the rumored Zune touchscreen is what's killing profits. Because otherwise it's... lack of software sales?

You think R&D on a new Zune causes a swing of $137 million? I guess it's possible, but it doesn't seem likely to me.
I honestly can't think of a reason for the huge drop, though.

Zune... and the rumored "720"?
It's that or all they're moving is arcades and the loss they're taking on them is greater than expected.

The price cut to $200. Increased volume sales, resulting in lower overall revenue and profit(especially if being sold at a greater loss than before).
I really don't think the Zune would actually cause any dramatic shift for that division's operational profits.

I did have interest in that back in the day, I'm kinda tired of hearing about it and the other supposedly similar game for 360.

Prototype? Yeah. But since that one is hitting the PC and not Infamous, I'm still keeping an eye on it.
And MAG does look incredible. I expected some reduction in visuals or gameplay to accommodate the 256 players but apparently not.

Sony: PS3 Will Dominate In 3~5 Years
"I don't think it will be next year, but in three to five years it will become dominant on the market," Reeves told industry site GamesIndustry. "The legacy will be that people will see a tortoise and hare situation. In a way, in the end it will be a dead heat. People will say PS3 took a while to get going but it really caught up very quickly and confounded many of the critics from the first year."
So David Reeves thinks that the PS3 will be dominate in 2012 or 2014. Meaning?
Meaning by Reeves most liberal estimate, it could take the PS3 almost eight years to become dominate in the market — leaving the console with a little over two years left in its proposed ten year life-span to rule the roost.
Just because its fun to hear Sony constantly lowering the bar.

Sad... Why can't they just be happy being what they are? Why the extreme need to dominate? The PS3 is a wonderful machine that has just as many fanboys as the 360, and not quite as many but still a lot of great exclusive games.
(But oh, how I hate platform exclusive games... I wish everyone could play Killzone 2, everyone could play Halo 3, and everyone could play Crysis.)

They shouldn't be happy. They're taking a loss on the console, sales have been average at best and its off-pace from last year.

From G4, apparently this is a list created from a survey of 1000 gamers on what titles they were most looking forward to.
Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo EAD)
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Sega)
Need for Speed Nitro (EA Montreal)
Madden NFL 10 (EA Tiburon)
Modern Warfare 2 (rumored, no developer announced; published by Activision)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (EA Tiburon)
Punch-Out!! (Next Level Games, Nintendo)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (EA Bright Light)
EA Sports Active (EA Canada)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Amaze Entertainment, Activision)
Indiana Jones & the Staff of Kings (LucasArts)
Boom Blox Bash Party (EA Los Angeles)
The Beatles: Rock Band (Limited Edition bundle) (Harmonix Music Systems, EA/MTV Games)
The Beatles: Rock Band (game only) (Harmonix Music Systems, EA/MTV Games)
NCAA Football 10 (EA Tiburon)
Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Red Fly Studio, Atari)
Tom Clancy's HAWX (Ubisoft Romania)
Grand Slam Tennis (EA Canada)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Krome Studios, Activision)
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Eurocom, Activision)
I don't buy it. There are some odd titles in there, including some that I haven't even heard were coming on the Wii. Others I figured everybody knew are going to suck, but apparently not.

Nintendo has shifted too far into the casual realm imo.
WiiFit, Wii Music, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart Wii, ExciteBots, PunchOut ? wtf..... seriously. Nothing announced from Factor5, Retro etc... in over a year. And all the GCN remakes (DK, Pikmin, MP, etc).
The last 'good'/'real' first party game was Super Mario Galaxy ..... almost 18 months ago.

Ahh... Capcom is so good to us PC gamers...
Kotaku - 3D Resident Evil 5 Coming to PC - Capcom
And considering that Lost Planet was LIVE enabled and Street Fighter IV has been confirmed as live, my bets are on Res 5 and Bionic Commando also being LIVE.
Oh, and we're still getting Lost Planet 2, which will most certainly be LIVE as well.

Doesn't seem to be many Call of Duty fans here, but anyway :
Bestseller Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has seen over 10 million unique online users on the Xbox 360 and over 4 million on the PS3, according to detailed online statistics revealed by Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling.
From here.
If they released 2 new maps every 2 months and charged about 500 points they'd be making a fortune. Plenty of suckers like me who would pay.
