It starts the 11th!

Personally I am looking forward to Halo 2 announcements and such.

What are some things you guys are looking forward to? HL2? D3? Sega's new "thing"?

I don't follow E3, so I am wondering: Is there any chance that Nintendo/Sony/MS will offer 'sneak peaks' in one way or another at their next generation consoles?

There are chances of that, but at this point it might be a bit too early. None of them want to show their specs at a point when the others can bump theirs up to surpass it.

Then again, you never know. Sega is rumored to have some sort of Hardware announcement...

Man, there's too many things to be excited for E3..

Nintendo DS
New GameCube Peripheral Add-on
Official Online plan (?)
GCN 2 / PS3 / XBOX 2 (?)
Metroid Prime: Echoes
Mario 128
Star Fox 2
Paper Mario 2
Punchout (?)
Kid Icarus (?) (could be a converted version of Capcom's Dead Phoenix)
Too Human (Nintendo/Silicon Knight split could be an insanity effect to advertise ED2)
Donkey Kong Platformer
Game Zero
PSP
Halo 2
Doom III
Kill Zone
"Konami 5"
GTA: San Andreas
Sega's big announcement

This expo is supposedly Nintendo's "Megaton". They have several surprises that "will make Nintendo Fans very happy". This is not the same as Megaton Myth that started a while ago.

Nintendo = Highly unlikely. I'm sure they want public to focus on Nintendo DS and GC Add-on first.

MS = Pretty possible. They're really craving for some public attention. Halo 2 isn't just enough to "win" the expo now

PS3 = Somewhat possible. They're well-known for hyping their products for like forever. PSP will have a connectivity feature with PS3 so few details about PS3 will have to be revealed somehow.

"Winning" the expo hardly matters anyway. I'm looking forward to some cool surprises, but E3 doesn't make much more of an impact than that. Definitely want to see the PSP.

Nintendo always has the best stuff, and this year will be no different...

Except I will be making a big announcement that will affect the flow of cucumbers into the Midwest... watch out.

Only "sneak peak" Nintendo gave at E3 2000 about the Game Cube was one of their laser light devices every once in a while drawing a Dolphin on the wall (codename for the Game Cube). That was the year Sega had a killer booth with lots of Dreamcast stuff, and pretty much the attention of everyone in the console hall.

E3 2001, Nintendo had a ton of playable Gamecube stations up.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the DS. They're hyping it up to be pretty revolutionary, and the big N never disappoints. Well, almost never...

I'm also hoping for Shenmue III (and hopefully on something other than XBox), but I figure that's just a pipe dream at this point.

It seems pretty fitting in comparison to all of their past systems. Nintendo Entertainment System, *Super* NES, Nintendo ... 64? GameCube was their big change for system-naming. I like "NDS."

Yeah, NDS does have a nive ring to it, kinda like the classic systems... NES, SNES, N64 . GC don't sound as cool.

Some interesting tidbits from Nintendo Staff at Nintendo.com Forum:

-Nintendo's new "next generation" console will only be shown in the form of technical specs.

-The Minish Cap will be shown off in playable form, and will be released stateside in Fall 2004

-The Wind Waker 2 (Which will have it's title revealed - and I can't tell you it) will be released stateside in March 2005

-A Zelda title for the Nintendo DS will officially be announced, although no footage is reported to be ready for show on the floor.

-Nintendo will unvield it's info on the next GameBoy, which will be pure wireless technology

A game not mentioned above that I'm hoping turns out well at E3 is Driv3r... hopefully it'll be better than Driver 2 anyway. The original game was great, though GTA has kind of taken the wind out of its sails.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt it. On the up side, Silicon Knights wasn't generating a large number of sales for Nintendo. On the downside, SK made some kick ass games (okay, 2 great games - err, one great game and a remake).

Here's hoping they don't get snatched up by M$, and can stay somewhat independent.

My initial response is pretty underwhelming to the design of the DS (if that's even really it). Where the hell are the speaker(s)? It looks cool, just a little bland. And it plays GBA games? There goes my plan to get a GBA SP Classic model. Hmm. A good or bad thing?

Aside from that, I want to hear about games already, the ideas developers are coking up for this new machine!
