If DS's design with this shoulder button is final, I wouldn't want to buy it. It's too ugly:

I'm definitely going to buy a DS though. I mean, what's there to lose? It supports 64-bit graphics, wireless multiplayer, touch screen...

Christ, you're being such an ass about this. You can't even see straight.
You mentioned the move from keyboard to mice before. Well, nobody said they needed TWO mice, TWO monitors, TWO keyboards.
In your own words:
lol...just hilarious...thanks dude
I guarantee you'll be both the first on your block to own one.

"Sorry guys. I just got back from the Nintendo event and though we were originally told that a new two-minute trailer for the game would be previewed, Nintendo decided to pull it. The reason was that the company was so happy with the reception the first trailer got that it didn't feel it needed to show more just yet.
We did sit through a Nintendo roundtable with Miyamoto and Aonuma, who talked about Zelda, and we'll have that up for you soon.
Matt"

if i had the money , yes . But im not a hardcore gamer.
it's not just "a second screen", it's got additional functionality to it...touch sensitive. if it was just another screen, i wouldnt really care either, but the fact that it's touch sensitive makes a huge difference. the possibilities are endless...it's like a completely different canvas/dimension to work with.
While developers of the PSP will be busydesigning games that are overkill graphically. the NDS developers will be trying to design games, in 3D, while at the same time encorporating a new dimension for UI. (should i use the touch sensitivityto let the player pick inventory, or as a map, or add a couple of extra buttons on it, or just use it for a different perspective, display stats, maybe use it to control wi-fi/bluetooth access during multiplayer battles, etc, (more examples in one of my earlier post).
I think it's quite remarkable that they decided to raise the bar in this way, as opposed to just releasing a 'beefed-up' GBA that has flashier graphics.
So far games, whether console or handheld have all been essentially the same....controller buttons, control elements on the screen, push a button...something happens. push button input ---> reaction in game. Now you got touch this/that------>something happens to it/the game. or say something----->this/that happens.
evolution of games has up until now, been about pushing grpahical limits, which is good. but imo it's gettingt as good as it can get. no one has bothered with player-game interaction, apart from that Eye-Toy (which is VERY cool).
Kudos to nintendo for doing something different in a good n different way.
Cheers.

Haha, PS2 is uglier than the Gamecube? Are you serious? The Ps2 actually doesn't look out of place as a dvd player. Gamecube is better than the Xbox though (by a country mile).

dude, I think he is trying to generate the Steve Jobs Feeling but instead of massive amounts of Mind Control Powers he uses a HUGE LOUD VOICE and BIG words.
I thought he was some guy hired to talk, but nope.... that guy is intense... very intense.

i like to give credit where credit is due. i like the playstation because it has a huge library and sony actually did a great job.... by basically toppling the gaming king Nintendo and ousting Sega from consoles.
But as far as design.... i really dont think the PS2 is good lookin. it looks like the gaming console darth vader would use. and the corners are quite sharp n intimidating. But that being said...i do like the platinum playstation (special edition).
That being said....have you guys seen the RE4 and the new zelda video ? those kinda craphics are being pumped out of a tiny gamecube ..it's small....it's cute, it's simple, elegant and functional. i do love the platinum gamecube, but at the same time, i think the pourple ones are hideous.
Cheers.

Two more potential applications for the NDS: handheld replacement, and voice over IP "cell phone." Think about it, it has all of the equipment necessary for these things.
The only question is if Nintendo will get the hell outa the way and let someone do it.

Halo 2 looks really good. I didn't like the first one that much as it was short and incredibly repetitive. No bosses, the same 4 bad guys throughout, lame weapons and the worst control ever for a Jeep.
I hope they fixed those problems in the second one.

Nope.... that OTHER company...you know the one that's still alive ?...Morio, Zelda, Metroid, etc...ring a bell ? It's called Nintendo, check it out. But you probably wont like it cause it sells a quality, efficient and competitive system.

Jeep in Halo may control a bit weird but it has the fun-factor that UT2k4 lacked.

There's a distinct difference between being a fanboy and wanting quality from the equipment you buy. If you can't see that, you're worse off than we thought.
