Fast Forward symbol on nano, won't pause, help!

	In the upper left corner of my sreen where the play or pause symbol should be I have a fast forward symbol (two arrows). I can't pause while playing, but I can hold the play button down until it sleeps. I don't know how they got there, it had been plugged into a stereo dock when I first noticed the arrows. Anyone got any clues? What do I do? Thanks
