I am moving a medical practice into a new building. I am in the process of planning little details like phone and internet services. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with using any of the virtual PBX services out there? Is virtual PBX reliable, or should I go with traditional PBX hardware?

I admit that this post is a bit of a fish out of water on this forum, but I respect the opinions around here.

Thanks.

We use an Asterisk box at my office (~20 lines), works great. Digium sells Asterisk based appliances.

We have VoIP phones and a voice T1 to the telco.

The Digium appliances support both "regular phones" and VoIP on both "sides" (the phones and the connection to the telco) with FXO/FXS ports.
