I bought a Kensington Bluetooth mouse for my MacBook. It runs on 2 AA batteries, and worked fine at first. Then it stopped. I thought maybe the batteries were dead, so I replaced them with fresh ones, but I still couldn't get it to work. When I tried going into System Preferences to check settings, I just got the spinning beachball & had to force quit SysPrefs.

I've tried several times, but always with the same result.

Any ideas? Could it be a bum mouse?

I'd suspect an OS problem rather than a problem with mouse itself.

And, what might the solution to this OS problem be?
