will sata-300 or sata 3.0 work in mac pro?

Im pretty sure both mean the same thing, and those will both work in a mac pro

SATA is SATA. If you run into problems running at 3Gbps (SATA II) then you can normally limit the drive to 1.5Gbps (SATA I) by using a jumper on there.

SATA-IO asks that you not use the terms "SATA I" or "SATA II" (unless you're talking about the SATA II committee, but few people ever are).
This is getting to be as bad as "MACS" and "Ipods."
