Normally here in Colorado Springs it doesn't start to get snowy until the end of October or early November. Today we're on our third day of snow so far (the first was late September). I'm thinking it's kind of crazy. Right now it's 21˚. Anybody else getting winter much too early?

It's been much colder in Chicago than the historic average for this time of the year.
Today's low: 28F
Historic Avg. low for 10/10: 42F
I wish fall didn't morph into winter that fast...

Snowed for the first time here this morning. It's not really sticking around much at the moment, but there was some actual accumulation earlier this morning.

It's the other way around here. Temperatures still hit 20°C occasionally. Which isn't normal.

Weird, it snowed here, too!
Of course, the sun's out now so it's gone. But it still snowed.

If it wasn't for the pickup, I'd call scenery for a model train.
What's in the background? The sky? A lake? Snowfog?

Normally there are hills three blocks behind those homes. Right now it's crazy foggy though.
Edit: I-25 was closed this morning, now reopened.

It's been well above average here for the last two weeks, but we don't normally get snow until halloween.

4" of snow here today, a little early. Nebraska. Our highs will not exceed 50° F 'til maybe Wednesday. I'm still trying to get over the fact that summer is over.

Yep, I was telling my friend in Des Moines how jealous I was that he was getting snow...

I'll see that and raise you one:
Usually we don't get our first snow until around Halloween, but it's been so cold it was bound to happen. Tonight's low: a balmy 19 degrees. (Sigh...) yay Idaho?

Nothing new for Colorado: I still remember the year where the Broncos were playing at home, 3rd weekend in September. It was 95 degrees on the field. Right after the game was over, the temps dropped, and by Monday morning Boulder had 24" of snow.
The ski resorts were sick: If only it had started to snow during the nationally televised show, they'd had some glorious free advertising. As it was, nobody believed the Colorado ski resorts were going to have a bad year.
Now, this Saturday morning, Denver broke a 100 year-old low temp record, and I-25 was closed at Yale (right in the middle of Denver).
Farmer's Almanac is predicting a hard winter. Maybe we should take a vote on whether that means it'll be just the opposite?

No snow here, but we've had rain for over a week-and our drought status is getting closer to "almost not drought" than it's been in a long time. This is winter, or at least late fall weather for here, but it's earlier than we'd see it; usually it doesn't start this until very late in November or into December.
On the other hand, we had our last two 100 year floods in either successive years or the second one was two years after the first-but in October...odd weather is pretty much the norm around Central Texas anyway...

Same here. Not quite 20°C (been about two weeks since we last had that, I think), but still gets up to about 14°C or so during the day. Right now—at 2 AM, mind!—it’s 7°C.
I love this Indian summer thing.

Today it was chilly, grey and raining, so that might be the English winter. Or summer. Hard to tell.

60° with rain, which is about 15 degrees cooler than it usually is at this time. Everyone here was still wearing t-shirts in early November last year.
We've been doing our best impression of England with gray, rainy days for about three weeks now.

No snow or anything here, but I'm frigging cold. Granted, it's my first winter away from Arizona in thirteen years, but we're still matching the record low in Seattle today. I hope my poor cactus will be okay – he's just a baby!

Supposed to hit minus temps during the nights this week. No snow called for though. (Southern Ontario)
I recall winters starting this early when I was young. (in snowpants for halloween!)
