Some of the rumor sites say that Apple will be having a special event tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb 20 to release new products or tell people about new products. Anyone know if these rumors have any substance? I need a new Macbook Pro, but want to wait for next revision.

Thanks!

It's time for a Mac Pro update (quads, bump the memory ceiling, better graphics cards, etc). MacBook Pro won't see an update for another 2-3 months.

Goddamnit I need new Mac Pro badly. I got money waiting for it for like forever.

It would be NICE if they release them tomorrow but I somehow doubt it

AFAIK, nobody has received/posted a legitimate invite. So I'd say no.... But that doesn't mean they can't silently update products on the store.

Seems to short notice. Apple usually sends invites a week in advance notice at worst.

Well I think it's pretty clear that they're not having a special event tomorrow, right?

But, their store was down for awhile this morning. They've been known to bring it down in the past before a release.

If there is one, it must not be a very big "event" considering nobody's invited or even aware of it. Sounds like wishful thinking to me.

I've stopped caring. I have enough of their CDs. I probably wouldn't buy a sing song if they put it on iTunes right now.

I know what is the big deal with the Beetles on ITMS? You can walk into any CD shop and get everything you need.

People are making it sound like when it comes to ITMS it is the only place you can hear their songs.

It's only slightly symbolic as it will be the first online place to get their songs legally. That being said, you can go to most used CD shops and get their CDs for $4-$5 used... and the non-DRM makes them even more appealing IMHO.

The sad thing is... many kids today don't even know who the Beetles are...

They still sell like hotcakes in the real world, so of course they'd sell really well on the iTS.

They just release browser crasher 1.0. The front page crashes by IE and FF for me right now.

The thing is, though, if those "top secret" features that Jobs was talking about at the Leopard preview aren't completely BS, they're gonna have to make them public pretty soon so that they can start testing them. June isn't that far away...

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
