Ars Technica is reporting that a malware attack is in the wild, targeting jailbroken 32-bit iDevices. The malware steals Apple IDs and passwords.

You jailbreak iOS, this is what you get.
Some sites have headlines leaving out the 'jailbreak' part, implying that iOS is susceptible to Android-like malware.

It looks like it's not just jailbroken devices, but jailbroken devices that also have some specific customizations (tweaks) applied as well. And it's only (apparently) effective on 32 bit iDevices - but that's a lot of iDevices.
I wouldn't be as harsh as msuper69 in saying "this is what you get" with a jailbreak, but it's a risk one takes when removing one major level of security: the Apple Store's locked-down access to the device.
The Ars article also points out that a large number of jailbreak users are not expected to restore their devices to avoid infection or decontaminate their devices. I personally think that's a "fool me once/fool me twice" situation.

Well, my thought is that when you remove the fundamental reason why iOS is more secure than other OSes, you're looking for a whole can of whoop-a** by doing so.
(Reply meant for Glenn, goof up on my part).

I kinda thought that's what you meant. It just came off as harsh, so I figured you missed a few words in your post.
