And it now supports my phone!

I'm thrilled to death. Unfortunately, my cable for the T720 is at home so I can't try it, but damn, that's one more reason to not have to use Windows anymore.

Does the Motorola V60g work (GSM T-Mobile)? Has anyone attempted as it uses the same cable as the V60i and it seems the other Motorola V60 phones appear to be supported.

I am just wondering if the list is not complete (similar to the Apple Airport Extreme Supported Printers List, which was incomplete as well).

Thanks,
dj

Don't get your hopes up there Starman! I have a Motorola T720 and it won't add my phone. Says No Devices found. Tried it on my laptop (G4 17") and desktop (G4 - dual 800). I am using a Smith Micro USB cable. Both machines do see the phone in the Network Systems. Let me know if you get yours to work.

Hmm...my biggest hope for this update remains unanswered, I think...

Anyone know if the Palm Tungsten|C PDA will now sync wirelessly via AirPort with the Mac, or will it still only wirelessly sync w/ Windows machines?

Anyone tried this...if I get some free time I'll try it myself & report...

My Siemens S55 is finally supported! w00+!!!

Adress book works fine, making a calendar entry on the mobile will automatically transfer it to a designated calendar list in iCal.

Only problem:

When I first synced calendars, I didn't have daylight savings time switched on on the mobile, so for some reason, all entries are set an hour early even though I've now changed the clock setting.

Weird and annoying, and I'm still working on it...edit: just for the record, in case somebody does a search:
I switched calendar syncing off in iSync, did a sync, and then switched it back on. Next sync, it showed a bunch of conflicts, and I had iSync use the data from the computer. All is well now.

But this phone and my 12" Powerbook are finally living up to the promise.

It NEVER syncs wirelessly via AirPort. It does it via Blutooth (which you need an adapter card to do) and yes it does work.

So, has anyone gotten their T720 to sync? Whenever I try I get a couldn't connect message, but the cable is definetely connected on both ends, the phone is on, and when I start the sync the phone even chirps like it's receiving commands.

Wow. All these reports are not encouraging. I was ready to run out to my local T-Mobile store to snap up a Moto T720 this afternoon.

I was wondering about this as well. Motorola just started shipping the T722i, and will ship the tri-band T725 later this year. I imagine that they will probably be supported in future updates to iSync or OS X, like support for new optical drives has been added with many 10.2.x OS X updates. However, the lack of success stories with the T720, which is on the supported list, is not encouraging.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the Motorola T720i and T722i, which are both available with T-Mobile service from Amazon.com? I wonder whether the T722 will work with the T720 profile or whether we'll have to wait for an iSync update.

It does the same with my Nokia 3650 (both your phone and my phone use the same OS, I believe). I see the bluetooth connection symbol on the phone, but iSync just sits there saying "Connecting to Nokia3650..." and then fails.

What gives?

I don't even get that far with my Motorola T720. iSync says no devices found. BUT on the Network Profiles in System Preferences it shows the USB connection to the phone. Has ANYONE gotten a T720 to connect to iSync??

You need to reinstall Palm iSync Conduit 1.1

It's at the bottom left corner of the iSync download page.

One very interesting thing I found out.

In the iSync page at Apple Spain, they just put a english copy, but not the same as the US version.

In the Apple Spain page you can read "Or even if you choose not to sync them, your home bookmarks are always available from any Web browser." which appears to not be an official or yet released feature. It also appears a screenshot of a iApp not currently known... It is just in the "Never lose your bearings" paragraph.

Go check it out while it last, the Apple Spain page is also in English:

It's the .Mac bookmarks webpage (not currently released), not an iApp.

Yeah, I was going to purchase a cable for my 720 but not until I know its going to work. Apparently you guys aren't the only ones having this problem:

Has anybody tried this with a Motorola brand cable?

That's not an iApp, that's a screenshot of .Mac. I think that image has also been on the US iSync page a few hours ago.

Does the Address Book use the groups from your computer? My S55 just shows the preset groups, and all entries synced from the computer come up as "Keine Gruppe".

Still *very* cool, but it would be even more useful if...

I disagree, that definetily is not a screenshot of .Mac.

No - it doesn't put contacts into the right group and neither does it set the correct image (although it seems to upload something bigger). But it syncs events from iCal instead, so I'm still happy.

Well.. just wait for iSync 1.2 then :-)

(T720) It worked!!!... I wish I could say what I did differently from before but I don't think I did anything.... actually... I installed the new quicktime and bluetooth update. So, either that or the fact that I restarted my computer probably made the difference. Anyways, I have a Mot T720 from Verizon (CDMA Model) and I'm using the cable sold by Verizon with the Mobile Office Kit. HTH The first sync went better than expected. I expected iSync to somewhat demolish either my phone's phonebook or my comp's address book. It surprisingly resolved the conflicts very elegantly. Now I just need to resolve stuff like two entries one named Mat and one name Mathew and crap like that.

I thought iSync 1.1 was going to sync the mugshots of people in the Adressbook with my phone

The t68i supports pictures of contacts...

(I haven't installed the bluetooth update yet.. but)

Not working for me. I have that Radio Shack cable, and it works on my PC, but not on my Mac (G4 17"). Grrr...I even tried those drivers on the Apple support discussion thread.

Not working here too... P800+Bluetooth D-Link Dongle.

I think it's really a Bluetooth problem, iSync is not in cause in that case.

I have heard of a new firmware available for the P800, maybe it only works with this firmware?

I am also having the exact same problem with iSync and my P800. Clearly the devices recognise each other. My Powerbook and my P800 both show a connection, but then I get the "failed to connect" error at the end of the sync.

I have been awaiting this update so eagerly, and it doesn't work - so very frustrating!

But I can send photos from the P800 to the Mac, and software from the Mac to P800. The two devices clearly establish a connection when iSync is syncing - this can be seen both on the P800 display, and in Bluetooth preferences.

It seems to me like Bluetooth is working, and the problem lies with iSync...

I sent feedback to Apple about it anyways.

my p800 makes the sync connection fine.

it even syncs up the photos of people on my phone and addressbook.

However since I have been syncing I have noticed that some people are now "empty" in address book - even though they are not empty in the phone.

see here:

Ooh, that's spooky

What version firmware (specifically Bluetooth) do you have on your phone? I'm wondering if there's a compatibility issue with older P800 firmwares (I have R2C, I think the latest is R5x or something...)

phone - R1D
BT - R2C

However I suspect it's iSync not matching field names - not a BT thing.

The only common denominator I can find with these "empty" records - is that the contact has only "work" details - no home details.

Could anyone else with a P800 test this theory?
