They did a good job at making the 15inch PB have the same details on the casing as the 17 & 12..

They just scaled up a 12" er. Note the battery compartment and lack of optical drive slot on the front face. You can also see the edge of the keyboard being VERY close to the edge of the computer ala 12". Also the new 15" would be thicker than the original TiBk. Unfortunately, its just MacMall and others' tricky marketing ala putting a picture of a 17" PB above the starting price of $1799 to catch your eye.

Thats not a 15" Titanium . . . but it looks like they have just scaled a 12" Alu to fit between the 17" and 12" on the cover.

Or......?

If the 15-inch PowerBook was that thick or had a bezel that size around the display, I would personally fly to Cupertino and smack Jonathan Ive with a ruler.

15.2" is the size of the TiBook.

Most rumours have the 15" AluBook being 15.4".

The new rumoured PB15 will be more expensive than the current Tibooks since those came down in price for clearance.

Re the picture, it is a just a PB12 picture but bigger in size.

The catalog was printed before the price drop.

Look at the picture again. Now look again... One more time... now smack yourself for failing to notice the keys on the keybourd are the size of quarters! Also the screen looks horribly small even with the scaling.

Macmall is shameless

OK so we all agree that its a scaled 12" PB, but what if the new 15.4" AlBk was actually thicker than the original TiBk. Would it be that big a deal to have a 1.18" Pb than a 1" one. My thinking is as follows. Deeper base = more room for heat sinks or better yet, bigger batery with more evenly distributed weight. You could end up with a PB that has 8-10 hrs battery life, ala Centrino claims, but feels just as light as the current ones due to better weight distribution.
