About to order a PB, dual G5, and 20" Cinema Display.

Question: given that I'm ordering both machines as BTO from the Apple Store, will they come with Panther installed?

Thx.

I would wait a day or two just be be sure they come with Panther already loaded otherwise you'll pay $19.95 for the update. You could always call the Apple Store and ask too before you place your order.

I asked the same thing. Mine (a CTO) actually shipped on the 22nd, and since the new iBooks have Panther, I asked in another thread if mine would at least come with the upgrade CD. The word was until Apple announces "Panther shipping with all Macs" or words to that effect, you can't count on getting it.

I would be shocked if any machine shipping out of Apple (and not a reseller's warehouse) this week lacked Panther.

EDIT::Last year I bought an eMac at the Jag release....it had 10.2 preinstalled.

Next question: I wonder where Apple is with respect to the defective displays (white spots) on PBs. If I order one within the next few days, will the design flaw be corrected?
