Eh. So... Lemme tell you a story
I woke up one morning, and all seemed well. Then I noticed that I had 3.2 gigs left on my hard drive. This was not a pleasant surprise... As I thought about it, I realized that there was no way I could have taken up that much space in the four months I've had my computer. So, I systematically went through the folders in my / directory, to see which one was eating up all the space. Every folder had a size around what I expected... Except for one.
/Library, apparently, was taking up 45.3 gigs. This, I knew, was not normal. So, I went through /Library to see what could possibly be taking up that much space. After a few minutes of searching, I discovered that /Library/Logs/Console/myusername/console.log.1 was taking up over 45 gigs. I deleted the file, and everything seems to be working fine.

My question is:
Is it normal to have a log file that big?

Nope. Some program must have been generating a ton of errors into your log.
