Is there anyway to "hide" the desktop while using Photoshop. I find that seeing the other windows I have open underneath to be very distracting.

I'd like it to look like the Windows version does with the grey background that doesn't allow you to see the open apps underneath.

Press the fullscreen button somewhere in the bottom part of the tools palette.

push the "F" key and you will be in full screen mode. push it once and you will have the image file youre working on be the only window. push it twice and you will be in total full screen mode, it will take over everything, even the top menu bar. mainly for critical work where you already know the shortcut keys to all the tools you will be using.
