how about flaming text? I'v seen a bunch of half ass'd tutorials other places, why not make a good one. Or maybe radio-active glowing-green goo or some sort. I dunno.

What about a tutorial on using layer styles vs doing the effect 'old school'? I see way too many people using layer styles to achieve effects like dropshadows, strokes. cutouts, inner shadows, ect... but what they don't understand is the same effect can be done by 'hand' and often looks better due to the control one has. i know it seems kinda basic, but it may help a lot of users.

I like Dave-o's idea. Iv often argued the advantages of doing styles by hand. I think a tutorial showing how to get the same look would help Noobies understand PS and alow them to expand there knowledge.

Tutorials for various plastic effects, or glassy effects, especially those use din the Mac OS, would be nice. It is so hard to find GOOD, DECENT, tutorials that give the BEST effects.

That's what i had intended when i wrote my post. Though it could be used in web site design or print graphics too. It's just sad to see some themes that rely heavily on layer styles for their images.. it really shows in the end product.
