Great partnership! Two of the most hated brands teaming together to get the Zune to the masses. It really will work, that is what is sad.

So that is what it looks like. I'm happy with my Nano iPod and my new Shuffle when it arrives.

Personally, I think the shuffle is going to be a huge seller. I've already ordered mine and I have friends who are thinking seriously about ordering one. Size and price is important.

I think the colors of the nano are big. I like the black and white of the previous version, but I LOVED the green and silver. Also, girls loved purchasing the pink. If/when I buy another (just trying to justify the bump) I'm either going green or going to upgrade to a video iPod.

That being said, I should probably wait until my mini dies.

Wirelessly share full-length sample tracks
WTF is a full-length sample track?

I wouldn't buy this just because this ad is confusing me on what it actually is.

you can send songs to people and they can listen to it 3 times before they have to buy it to keep listening.

That's AWESOME! Only Microsoft would think of such a thing.

I'm just waiting for the news that the information is sent to Microsoft...

I cannot wait to not buy one of these. I won't be the first person in line. In fact, I'm not waking up early to get this one. Nope, I'm not.

I don't know about after the new iPod anouncements, but I heard that the mini was selling real well on ebay for more than they cost new.

No, black is the new black. Any comparison to black is the same as a comparison to the iPod.

"Brown (gray, navy blue, chartreuse) is the new black."

They accidentally posted the price yesterday at $284.88 or something like that. Pretty cheap, MS must be taking a loss on it.

It was $284 even, which seems like cost to me, not a retail price. I'd guess $299 will be retail. Still, they may choose to lower the price and take (more of) a loss on them since the iPod is $50 cheaper. Even though the Zune has a couple of features that would make it more expensive, you don't take down the market leader by being more expensive than them.

The funny part is that Zune won't work with the WalMat music store. Or any music store, for that matter. Microsoft made sure everyone got onto the "Plays For Sure" DRM scheme, then they release the Zune which doesn't support it. It'll only work with the Zune music store.
