I use my old B&W G3 as a music server. It sits under my desk with the carpet. The MDD gets the cleaner breathing surface of my desk.

Your kidding right? From a quick glance, your main page has three typos and there's more on the photos page.

I'm not going to post pictures for you, run a spell checker over it.

You should also check your sig in this forum. It's too tall. 200pix wide by 50pix tall is the max.

Life changes a bit when you have to work for what you buy (and I'm not talking about a part time job). You will learn that in about 8+ years.

That being said, my computers generally go from primary to server to gifts. I have a 733 G4 tower that's about to become a gift computer in about a year.

Kid, if you don't see anything wrong with your "site," then you're freakin' retarded. I'm sorry, but you must be at the bottom of your remedial classes in school.

I would like to see your cousin naked, though.

My iBook G4 sits next to my main display, and I use it for IM/email. I've got a cube at work that serves my own web page and my images, a G4 minitower at work running Ubuntu server edition acting as a DNS/web/backup server, and a couple B&W G3's that I've given friends to use.

Sentences start with capital letters, and apostrophes are used to abbreviate words. It's = "it is", which is what you meant to say. This sentence should read:

Checked it. It's fine

or

Checked it, it's fine.

I know you're young, but you can disguise that fact by really taking care of business in your spelling and grammar. It will get you really far in life, trust me, writing well and articulately is an extremely useful skill!

My old PC runs FreeBSD and I use it as a test server for NetMusician :: web publishing software for musicians and all other sites run off of this dedicated server, print server, iTunes server, file storage and file backup server, database replica, web server, local network monitoring tool, occasional access to Windows via VMWare or the like for testing things, secondary email server, system monitoring tool, and I use it to record the Daily Show and Colbert Report every night as well.

Do I win a prize for biggest geek in this thread so far?

My B&W is my TV/file server. My Lombard...eh...is in a showcase because I had a terrible accident with overclocking and destroyed the daughtercard. On the other hand, my uncle's old Powerbook Duo 210 is in in it's original box doing nothing.

On Topic.

I have a couple of old Macs, but they usually retire for a reason. i.e.- I have an iBook w/ a dead display. Another with a dead HD. (Which I have Apple Care on- but never registered it so it's not serviceable.)

So what do you do with broken Macs that can make them useful again?

I tried to fix the display issue and made a mess. But, let's say I fix the other one. What can I do with it it that's fun since I don't NEED it?

My "old" iBook (latest G4 model, so not really all that old) is now my baby sister's laptop, and she's more than ecstatic about it. Considering that she's coming from an old POS Celeron eMachine, this is no surprise.

In the meantime, I'm contemplating picking up an old G3/G4 PowerMac to use as a webserver/fileserver. Probably won't be for a while though, seeing as my bike just got jacked last night and I NEED to replace that as soon as possible. Bah, I hate people sometimes.

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species

Thanks for the compliment? Actually that is my picture. I told CATS to put me in as cousin because of these types of comments! Also as a note: The school systems now teach phonetics(which I probably didn't spell right), so CATS is having to rectify the differences. Which in the English language can be a challenge.
