I remember, many moons ago, being part of that pilot, but it sort of just died off and went into the ether of abanonded projects.

Is that coming back, especially considering that the forums were just overhauled?

A huge forum rewrite that takes up 25% of the rightmost vertical space in your browser window for ads ... a really nice rich text editor that oddly says it's not compatible with Safari on a Mac oriented site .... and STILL no mobile version that makes the forums even marginally more useful on an iPhone. Wow. Just wow!

There was a mobile version of the old site, but it was never quite finished. There was a hidden way to access it, but obviously it's gone now. There are very active discussions about both a mobile version and the exact layout with the ads - it's early yet.

The rich text editor is working fine for me on Safari 5.1.whatever. What bugs are you seeing?
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

I'm running the Safari 6.0 beta. But once I changed it to "BB Editor" in settings that message went away. Seems to be working fine now.

on an IPad, having to click twice to get to the last post in a thread due to the hover preview, is annoying.

Also, the icons in the quick reply box are incredibly blurry and obviously not the right size.

AppleInsider and MacNN moved to the same forums it looks like. I hate it. Its hard to read, hard to navigate, busy, and since I do most of my forum browsing on my iPad, annoying.

Everything takes 2 clicks on my iPad. I gues it's because of some sort of mouse over state? Each link I have to tap, (followed by some sort of pop-up,) then tap again to actually get to the linked page.

Yep. It's really annoying.

You couldn't make a website LESS iPad/iPhone friendly even if your life depended on it.

iOS copy doesn't work either on posts. If there's a word I want to look up or a phrase to copy and paste to search, I don't have that ability. Turning off JavaScript restores it. I assume it's a side effect of the JS popups or close enough.
