when I directly connect with some one with ichat av via audio how do i get there ip adress.

You ask them for it, generally.

EDIT: They can find out by checking their System Preferences (the Network pane).

Alternatively, they can check it via ifconfig (Terminal).

Alternatively, you could set up a connection monitor and find out for them.

You can use netstat. It's a command-line tool that shows all incoming and outgoing connections.

See "man netstat" in the terminal for more details.

I suspect 'LittleSnitch' would do the job too..

what is little snitch and I have macsniffer will that work. Don't see little snitch on version tracker. Also if I directly connect via audio or with a picture will that allow me to netstat in terminal what about net work utilities don't they have net stat and I can just do it there right?

Could try running "netstat -a" from the command line. I think this would be harder if you're chatting to more than one person

I audio and video with one person only so I would see that IP adress more than once.
