It's very convenient that Tiger Safari displays pdf.
It would be more convenient if it could PRINT them (or am I missing something).
Try opening a pdf in Safari (like http://www.ifccfbi.gov/strategy/051117.pdf that was referenced in Lounge or drop your own pdf onto Safari.
I *says* it'll print. But the page is blank (as it is if I use Print dialogue to Preview).
I know I *could* download a pdf's link and then go to my downloads folder... but that wipes out all the convenience of browsing quickly w/safari.
Anybody got a workaround?

TETENAL:
That's a nice suggestion, but a $69 one.
A bit pricey. I, too, was hoping Safari was going to fully handle pdfs as of Tiger

Well, it's says it costs $69, but one user comments that it's free for "personal or educational use".
I'm going to give it a try.
If it's free that should be noted more boldly at top of VT description!

Well, that PDF Browser works like a charm...
But I had to notice that it has a little PRINTER icon in its custom menu bar; just hitting command-p still prints a blank page. But their print routine brings up full printer dialogue.
Very cool. Thanks.

What happens if you control-click (right-click) on the linked pdf and download to disk, then use preview to print it?

Downloading to disk may be sufficient for consulting at your leisure (saving a tree-branch or whatever.)

Interestingly, I have trouble printing from the PDF Browser Plugin.

True, it won't work from the File->Print menu.
But there's a little printer ICON within the plug-in's menu (along with a slew of other icons whose significance I've not fully explored)

And somehow these arcane hidden buttons (OK, maybe they're just obscure buttons), akin to voodoo instructions, are easier than more straightforward patterns of thought?

Sounds like Windows to me...

Or use Adobe Reader 7's plugin, which prints perfectly whether you press its button or choose Print from the File menu. It even gives you Adobe Reader's advanced print dialog.

Hmmm... I haven't touched Reader is so long, now that Preview works so nicely. I may have to take a moment and download.

Do you know of a direct download to the plugin, tooki? It refuses to install when I install Reader.
