So I was digging through a box I had in my closet when I was cleaning it out a few weeks ago, and came across this aged CD case.

What could it be?
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it (click on the image to open it).

This is probably one of my old-time favorites. I haven't tried playing it yet on my PowerMac.
Anyway just thought I'd share and hopefully bring back some memories for a few of our members here.

Well on the CD itself it includes the HyperCard installer (v1.2.5) so you can run the game. Tried installing it and it gives me a file error (-43). Dang.

I maybe out of luck on this one.

Madrag: Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel.

At least now I can listen to the soundtrack. Wow this brings me back.

If anyone's interested I can post up the theme song. I'm sure this will bring a few smiles to some people.

A few soundtracks taken from the game (uploading now):

Cosmic Osmo Blues (Theme Song)

Bells of Moria

Tower Mist

There are 18 tracks total. Most of them are actually pretty good.

I remember it all too well...awesome game. Loved the graphics.

The game would probably run well under an emulator such as BasiliskII or Sheepshaver.

I remember a real old Mac/Apple II game. Anyone remember MicroLeague Baseball or MicroLeague Football??? Baseball was for both the Mac and Apple II (I had a //c) and Football was only for the mac. I would LOVE to get my hands on these games again!

Zeebe: Google is your friend - you can find it for the Commodore 64 easily enough, and then get a C64 emulator to run it. emulation.net has a lot of emulators.

OK, let me make a correction to my statement above. Would I love to see a game like this made for TODAY's computers!!! It is too hard to play through emulation!! I wish I knew programming.

Doom Legacy. Download it (if you still have a Doom 2 install cd).

Doom Legacy allows Doom 2 to run under OS X:

Duke Nukem for OS X:

Have fun !!

Gee, I hope they're friendly..........

The game I really miss is marathon. That game transcended the average first person shoot with puzzles, a superior plot, and really witty writing. Marathon 2 in particular. Also Spectre and Spectre VR, which is the multi player bar I hold all games to for fundamentally fun game play, by design.

Aleph one will let you play Marathon as a mod on UT, which runs under Mac OS X. I also loved Marathon, but for some reason, Marathon 2 was the only one I never got around to finishing.

some of the old LucasArts and Westwood games have trouble in classic. I am a Full Throttle fan . . . The sound is fine but the video is trashed. Anyone know any work arounds? I was hinted by a tech that the problem is in the addressing of the CD in new machines vs how it was addressed in the older ones... but then it would seem like it wouldn't play at all.
