As of late, I have noticed most sites that can redirect to a specific country version of the site show the content in italian instead of english or spanish.
This happens since I got internet by satellite. But it does only on my Mac Pro, none of my other computers, iOS devices show this weird behavior.
I swapped the DNS on my Mac Pro System Preferences to use the ones for OpenDNS but that did not fix a thing.
Any insight greatly welcome.

Thanks for your reply. Sure I did. I just noticed this is not entirely the case when browsing within VMware Fusion's Windows XP. There, the web content is shown in spanish, which make sense since I am located in Spain albeit most web ads, which I have blocked on Lion, are being shown either in French or Italian.
So why Lion doesn't detect accurately the Country for web content is beyond me.

Yea, the language/country on the end is not geolocated, but the region code is. WTF is A2...

After some research on my end, I found out that my satellite internet provider relies on Skylogic which is located in Torino, Italy, whereas the tooway hardware -just a modem and a dish- is made by ViaSat in the USA.
Could this be a plausible explanation.?

If it makes your IP look like it is coming from Italy, then yes. IP geolocation, even just to a country, is used to serve more target advertisements and make educated guesses at a user's language for language-specific web pages.

I was able to fix the IMDb website by updating my Site Preferences (you need an account for this) were the options shown below were wrong enough. My damn italian IP is to blame.
