For a long time, I used iBlog since it was quick and easy. Got away from it but now that I have settled back into life stateside, was thinking of getting back into it.
But I have no idea what's best. Wordpress? I use that for a work-blog we all have access to.
OH, and despite its headaches, would like something that is useable on .mac/mobileme as I have it paid through most of next year and have a ton of space on it to work with.

WordPress is good, but since MobileMe doesn't allow you to run any kind of software on its site, your choices are pretty much iWeb and iBlog as far as my knowledge of blogging software goes. But to be clear, I don't actually use client-side blogging software like that.

Yeah, you aren't going to get very much on .Mac/MobileMe. Blogs consisting of static pages (ala iWeb) are barely deserving the name.

WordPress works good and its very customizable. I use it on my own blog.
I pay $9.99/mo for hosting with Dreamhost.com but it includes a domain name registration and they have a one click install of wordpress plus a bunch of other features.

Oh...and as far as software on the mac I use ECTO. It will communicate with your wordpress blog.

Eh, with all the caching plugins these days, that's what WordPress is slowly morphing into. It's just generated server-side rather than client-side.

how are caching plug-ins to allow for site-wide search, comments/moderation, and all of the other databasey things that WP does?
Local client software is a poor substitute for faking databasey things.
