Constant beachballs in safari…what a dog.
I love and have used safari for a long time, but recently the beachball things is just crazy bad. And ok, on my white 2gb mem imac, but on a new macbook air, cloned from said os (imported settings, etc.), and I get beachballs on 5 open tabs, with minimal flash….shhh…
any idea on what I should do? (and no I am not going with chrome)

I almost never have a beachball with Safari. Which version (exactly) are you using (see "About Safari" in "Safari" menu.
I'm using 5.0.3 - and just about to install 5.0.4, which is why I'm perusing forum for any alerts about issues w/5.0.4.
[ EDIT: and that over my lousy DSL. OSX 10.6.6 on any of several machines ]

Any extensions installed?
Some extensions do very strange things. See if there's updates for your extensions, or selectively switch them off for testing.

You cloned from your iMac to the Air? Reinstall from scratch and transfer the files manually. Other than that, a Flash blocker would cut down on unnecessary resource usage.

Safari was damn near unusable for me before I downloaded ClickToFlash. Now, Safari is much better behaved, and I even get better battery life on my Macbook because my fan hardly ever has to turn on.
