World of Warcraft is available for the mac, and it's a really good game. In fact there is even a guild comprised of a bunch of NN'ers. Their site is www.dogcows.net (BTW: The game is Hybrid Mac and PC on the same CD's).

Ya WoW (World of Warcraft) is a great game, cross-platform supported. And the I can use the same plugins (ie. Cosmos) on my Laptop (Windows XP) as my Desktop (OS X).
But please, please please - go Horde. Too many Alliance out there. But you will probably go Alli and Pallidain like 90% or so of the people. :-)

Ah, it's just a general complaint of mine with WoW, or any other MMO game... people try "controlling" things too much, and take it way too seriously.

Funny, my complaint is that half the people on there are 11-year-olds who like to send yells about how so-and-so is such a fag. And they can't duel for **** because they think running around in stealth mode will keep me from shooting them up like a smack junkie.

Ya agree with both of you. I wasn't trying to be controlling - just would like to see horde grow a bit in numbers. :-) We seem to always be outnumbered. We might be ugly, but we need love.
Too bad there is not a way to have an "adults" server. Hmmm, but some of the adults aren't much better than the kids.
I'm on Cenarius and for the most part it is pretty good. Occasionaly you will have griefers - even from your own faction. I try to hang with friends/co-workers and others who are in the 20-40yr range.

There's a bunch of persistent worlds for Neverwinter Nights and given the complexity of that game, the 'kiddies' usually stay away. It might be worth a shot!

World of Warcrack more like it. I just got the game Monday, and if it wasn't for the fact I had a doctor's appointment yesterday morning I would have ended up doing an all-nighter.

How so? I never played EQ, but I don't really see how. Specifically what drawbacks of EQ is it acquiring?

Because people will pay it. Why? The people interested in playing WOW are the same people who aren't very social and don't take ladies out on dates and get laid. What does this mean? Apart from spending money on dungeons and dragons trading cards, fake medevil weaponry, and new videocards, they can usually AFFORD to spend money on games, since most normal people usually spend it on women.

I don't have any information on how the pricing model was arrived at, nor would I be in a position to discuss how that all works, even if I did. Just personally speaking, I feel it is priced fairly based on the competitive landscape of MMORPG's and the content that is offered in our game. But if you have suggestions that we may not have thought of, by all means post them and I can pass them on to the powers that be.

it's actually two jokes in one. The other one is the infamous "Does 0.999... == 1?" thread from the Blizzard forums..

Hardly. That's a stereotype long past its prime.
Most of the people in my guild (myself included) are married, and many of us have kids (I have 3). So I suspect I "get laid" a lot more than you do.
Have you even seen the number of people that play WoW? There aren't that many nerds in the whole world. Regular, normal people with jobs, lives, and families play WoW.

When I played MMORPGs(EQ, EQOA, Shadowbane and then WoW a bit) youhad to play a lot to be and stay in a good guild, or even to group with the same people or they pass you by and are then too high to group. Has that changed? I simply don't have the leisure time to play that I once did. I, too, am a family man with a daughter.
Thanks

They may spend their time playing WoW and posting about it on a Mac Forum, but you spend your damn chastising them for it, when they clearly don't care what you say, who you are, or what you think. In the time you've spent harrassing them, you could've gotten a date.
