We have a DP 1.8 G5. It has a few games on it. The video card is the ATi 9600 XT with 128mb of vram. The kids seem to be complaining recently with Call of Duty 2 and Age of Empires III.

Can someone recommend a replacement AGP card that would help, or is it a CPU issue? My budget is around $200.

Or, would it be better to simply tell them to deal with it and go with PCI when the next revision of the Mac Pro arrives?

Thanks in advance.

It seems your only real option would be the Radeon 9800 Pro. You can find them for under $200 if you look around.

I had a SP 1.8 G5 with the 9600XT and found that it played COD 2 just ok. I would say doing the upgrade would help out but I can't say how much. You are rather limited by the CPU.
