I encounter a bug in "Preview". I have a PDF with a lot of text (a book, in fact) and I need to copy the text into a text reader, like TextEdit or Word.

This worked for the last weeks, until today. When I copy text now, it does copy something, but there are no letters, no black text. I thought it was the text color, but it is set to black. It does copy something in, but nothing visible on the screen (only when you select it, there is some information, like many blanks).

Any idea? Any setting in Preview? I tried restarting.

Now, I'm download Adobe Reader which I hope works. Would be an alternative. Weird, though.

Is this with a PDF that previously worked, or a new one? I'm guessing it's a font issue. Either the font wasn't embedded properly, or it's one you don't have installed. Or some other arcane font thing.

You can also set PDF security to block copying of text. That might be it, too.

It now works. They had send the file to me through email and I re-downloaded the file from the email. Just replaced the one. Now works :-)
