How long does it take for you to complete a work unit? As it stands now, I'm looking at a solid 24hrs or more to complete a work unit which is too damn long. I've never gotten the command line version to work properly so I'm using the graphical client.

Athlon XP3000+ (waiting for OC'ing hsf to arrive)

It depends on which protein WU you are crunching - on my xp2600 using the graphical client on protein 921 I'm looking at 16 hours, my iMac 800 is about twice that.

Plus your 24 hour of crunching might be on a particularly difficult WU for which more points are offered.

Have a look at http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html for the protein list and their values.

939 is not listed on the F@H proteins list....maybe you've picked up a genome@home (did you specify F@H in your setup) or maybe you've got a new protein....

You may want to check as I don't think a genome@home protein score will count in the team races

Genome work will list as Folding credit if the only team number given is a Folding team number. But this is not a Genome work unit, those are all protein 799 and are crunched by the FahCore_ca.exe crunch core.

939 is a beta work unit, which they do not list in the main listing. Just where they do list beta units is a good question. I wish they would list them in the main listing with a flag to designate beta status or something.

It's probably worth 31-51 points.

If you check on the psummary page (link above) you can see that your p563 is worth 18 points. An even bigger factor between these two wus is that the p638 used the Tinker core, and the p563 uses the Gromac core. The Gromac core is now highly optimized for the G4 architecture. The Tinker core doesn't run that well on the G4.

So my poor G4 worked on this unit for who knows how long and then this:
Code:
[10:17:17] Completed 2400000 out of 2500000 steps (96) [10:17:17] - Checksums don't match (work/wudata_04.xtc) [10:17:17] Checksum not what expected. [10:17:17] [10:17:17] Folding@home Core Shutdown: FILE_IO_ERROR [10:17:17] CoreStatus = 75 (117) [10:17:17] Error opening or reading from a file. [10:17:17] Deleting current work unit & continuing...
So is that a lost 20+ hours or so?
