I'm thinking this summer a mobo upgrade is in order with a bump in RAM and a RAID array.

I have a PC:

14" P4 2.0 GHz laptop
512 MB DDR RAM
40 GB Hard Drive
(Don't know the specifics of the specs; too lazy to go check)

- but it's not a gaming PC. It would be way too slow for that, first of all, and I can think of few things more boring than playing games. No, not true - 'old school' games are fun enough. And by 'old school', I mean games like Commander Keen, Tetris, even (for lack of better) Duke Nuke'm, etc. Anything newer or fancier than that is just boring. I'd rather be doing my homework, even, and that's saying something.

I used to, but dumped it for an XBox and PS2.

I had built a gaming PC last year. But I couldn't draw myself away from OS X long enough to game on it so it ended up becoming a SETI box with a really fast video card.

Sold it shortly after I built it and haven't had a PC since.

M$ loses money on the XBox platform and it is the best gaming situation so I look at it as a win-win proposition.

homebuilt a while ago. getting a bit outdated, but it still runs the latest games:

Athlon 64 2800+
512mb DDR333
360GB total internal SATA storage
Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb
Windows XP Pro SP2 (ew)

hooked up via component video adapter to a Zenith 27" HDTV in my bedroom. games look fantastic at 720p. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory in HD is probably the best-looking game i've ever played. Half-Life 2 is up there with it.

I use the box for games, music, and movies (thus the 360GB of HDD space, which actually isn't much compared to a lot of peoples' movie servers)

And, despite it being several times more powerful than my rev. A 12" PowerBook, I can't use it for more than a few minutes (with the exception of playing games) before i have to go back to OS X.

"I start fires!"

Just picked up a PSP last weekend and I just have to say, this thing is awesome!

I have an XBox too, but my wife controls the TV so I didn't game too much with the XBox. Now with the PSP I don't have to worry about who has control of the TV.

I have an Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.5Ghz with a bunch of other nice stuff in it only because I won some of the parts in a raffle and thought it would be best just to spend the small amount of money to build a system around it. I never used it much though, played a couple games of CS:S and then it sat in the basement for a while as a linux folding@home box...I think recently my brother has taken it to play games on, I don't really care.
