Hey, just got a new 30Gb iPod Video today (and wow it is the coolest thing i have ever seen) but I am looking for a nice case for it. I would really like something that is hard and has holes so i can access the front wheel and see the screen clearly (while its still protected). Anyone know of a case like this? Or any case at all?

Thanks,
Justin

Check out Speck, they have announced no fewer than six cases. They have one that looks pretty cool, it's a clear hard plastic slip case.

They will be shipping in a few weeks.

If you can manage to be patient, you should look into the forthcoming case from Vaja:

http://www.vajacases.com

Their cases may seem pricey when compared to those from Speck and other vendors, but they are superior in their construction and are much more attractive . . . people have literally stopped me on the subway to ask about my Vaja iPod 2G cases. You can also check the reviews at iLounge.

I recommend that people skip this and order the invisible shield. I did.

I can also personally vouch for the Vaja cases.

I purchase a red one for my 3G iPod, and although $50 was steep, it's awesome. Beautiful, tough, and eye catching. I'll be on the lookout for their video iPod cases.

However, I really hope their cases are a bit thinner this time; my 3G case was so puffy it became like 30% thicker and wouldn't fit comfortably into pockets.

I'm REALLY keeping an eye on this upcoming Tunewear case:

For their utiity, the iDiddy (et al) film is not worh it. $15+ for what? Glorified packing tape? Who? I went over to DecalGirl.com and got 2 front/back clear film sets for $4 each. The film that came with the iPod stays on until they arrive.

I tend to spend a lot of money on cases--tyring to find the right one...I'll take my time this time around, and spend wisely.

I'll say one thing, by moving the headphone port to the side, Apple has given us more options. We don't have to look for exorbinate 'iPod' cases anymore. There are some Treo / iPaq cases out there that might suit us just as well.

The way I look at it, you'll (or I will) be spending anywhere from $20 to $40 on a case for an iPod anyway. If something like this suits your desires, then buy it.

I picked up the invisible shield myself. Just installed it last night. I'm definitely impressed. Unfortunately as of this morning I had a small moisture bubble on the plastic part. No danger to the ipod at all. But I apparently can't remove and reapply the cover at this point. I could have done it last night, but I didn't notice it then. But aside from that I love it.
