Hot on the heels of some new CarPlay features uncovered in the iOS 9.3 beta -- including new support for Apple Music and the "Nearby" feature in Maps -- Apple on Monday posted a list of over 100 model year 2016 and model year 2017 vehicles from various manufacturers that will support CarPlay either as a built-in feature or as an optional add-on, with some of the companies also supporting Android Auto. While some of the vehicles are only coming out later this year, the list supplements announcements about CarPlay support made during the CES show in Las Vegas.

Among the car makers listed on the page are (in alphabetical order) Audi, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Ferrari, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Opel, Porsche, Peugeot, Seat, Skoda, Suzuki, Volkswagen, and Volvo. There are some notable exceptions to the list, including Mazda and Toyota, which have either not made an announcement yet but may still do so for the 2017 model year, or have said that they are not planning on supporting CarPlay at this time. The list does not include makers of aftermarket units that support CarPlay, such as those from Pioneer and JBL.
Winslet, Sorkin win Golden Globe awards for 'Jobs' film The Danny Boyle-directed film Steve Jobs may not have done well at the box office, but it was a critical success, with mostly praise for writer Aaron Sorkin's fictionalized account of three Jobs-led product introductions set against a backdrop of his and his daughter's struggles to come to terms with each other. Sunday's Golden Globes award ceremony saw the film win two awards, honoring Sorkin for Best Screenplay, while Kate Winslet -- who played Macintosh and NeXT marketing executive Joanna Hoffman, one of the few people who could stand up to Jobs -- took the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Michael Fassbender, who played Jobs, was nominated but lost out to Leonardo DiCaprio in his latest film, The Revenent. Daniel Pemberton, who did the music for the film, was also nominated -- but the award went to Ennio Morricone for his score for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight. Sorkin, in press remarks, said that he hoped the awards would remind people of the strong critical notices the film received rather than its quick fall after the first two weeks at the box office.

The Golden Globe Awards slide further into irrelevance with this act.
