Tiger Mail downloads from .mac account sloowly

So under Panther, Mail downloads the incoming dot mac e-mails just fine, well, something like 25 kbps, that is all my dsl gets… under Tiger all I get is something like 2 kbps… I have tried it several times, installing Panther again, and then deleting the whole thing and installing Tiger… nothing changes, fine under Panther, damn slow under Tiger, this only happens with the .mac account. Weird enough…

I have issues downloading attachments from Mail also. Maybe it was faster under Panther, it's been so long since then that I can't remember.
I find it faster to just go to webmail.mac.com and download the attachment from there.
