By the way, Philip Roth's The Ghost Writer has an enjoyable segment in which the writer protagonist meets a young woman who just may be Anne Frank; it seems she survived, but for the sake of her parents, the beautiful story that emerged from her diary, and her own pain, she remains incognito in Massachusetts. Anyway, it's a great book.
