We are building an iPad application and we have a rough version of the logo idea done, but we need someone that can polish it up and create iPad icons out of it for us.
I have googled this a bit, but I can't seem to find too many sites that aren't icon/logo factories (25,000 high quality icons for only $49.99!! Awesome business logos in 4 hours or less, only $99!!!). And I can't really tell who is any good and who isn't on the ones that don't look like icon/logo factories (I am not a designer myself).
So, has anyone worked with any great icon/logo designers in the past that they would like to recommend?

If Adam can't do it, Florida is great at this stuff.

^ + ^^ That’s MindFad, if the state alone didn’t make it clear for you.
(This ought really to be in the art & design forum. Moving it there … if I can make it work. )

What kinda app is it? I often redesign app icons when I don't like em, and I'm looking to build a portfolio. I don't often draw app store icons... but it'd hardly be difficult. I mean if you can get Adam go for it, though I'm sure I'd be cheaper

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I haven't heard back from Adam yet, but if that falls through I will give the other couple of guys a shout.
I didn't put this in the art & design forum because it says at the top that you have to submit job requests to the mods before posting them, and I didn't know if this would count as that. The art & design forum also get significantly less traffic than the lounge.

I talked to Adam, and he's very, very busy and unable to take on more work. He has offered up a spreadsheet of designers that have submitted their information for people looking for good work: List of Designers.
Everyone on the list has given permission for this information to be public.
Adam says he misses us all terribly, and wishes he had more time to post on forums.
(Well, he didn't really say that, but I'm sure that's his true feeling.)

I think that instruction in A&D is mainly to keep "contests" away, and those are usually posted by new members here to drum up business. We could do a survey to see what people want, but I think job requests from long-term members is ok. (Especially if you're actually going to PAY. )

Absolutely paying job offers by established members is ok.

Sometimes a minus is a plus in disguise. A thread posted in a low-traffic forum will remain at the top significantly longer. Keeping it visible on the forums root page.

Dang. That list from Adam is pretty old (many dead websites), and it doesn't seem like there was much quality control in creating it... whoever wanted to be on it was put on it, it seems. There were a few good ones though; unfortunately none of them have any time at the moment to do additional work.
Time to go to Logo Design, Web Design, Design Contests | 99designs.com I guess and hope for the best.
