World of Warcraft on a PowerMac

I play WoW on my PowerMac G4 dual 1GHz. The problem is I only get about 30FPS with all settings at minimum in an average area, while playing at 1280x1024 resolution. It drops to 10-20FPS while in groups or fighting. I'm looking to improve the performance of WoW on this computer.
Here are my specs:
Mac OS X 10.4.1
Dual 1GHz G4
Radeon 9800 Pro
1GB DDR SDRAM
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve my frame rates?

Bump down that resolution to 1024x768.

Probably the processor. The video card has a recent chipset (9800), what is the memory on it?
But most likely the processing power.

i have a dual 2.5 with 2 gigs of ram, 6800 ultra and i get the same fps drop. on a less powerful pc with higher video settings the game runs better. (make sure vsync is off on any system)
all i can guess is that the video drivers for a pc are much better than a mac.

and on a really weird side note, is the game ran better windowed instead of full screen.
probably because rendering the desktop is less intensive, but it just seemed weird to me.

Hmmm I have the semi-old powerbook G4 (aluminium), with only 256mb ram and the game runs fine when I am alone, but slows to a crawl with other people.

Turn off full screen glow
Turn terrain distance down to 1/3 or lower
Trash the WTF and WDB folders
Turn power saver settings to maximum (not automatic)
Try with vertex shaders on and off - see which is better for you
At least 1gig of RAM

Good luck. I run WoW on my PC, so I haven't had any problems. It sounds like mac performance is pretty shabby (although it is getting better)
