okay I need some help with some code for my image galleries.

I want to have it set up so that once you click and the picture opens in a new window, that there is a previous and next button below the image that will go to the next image that is in the galleries folder.

here is the page so you can get a little more idea what I am talking about.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you considered a PHP image gallery? I know next to nothing about PHP, but I've found a couple of them very easy to install. I like Singapore because it's easy to install/use and doesn't require a database (mySQL). It has the features you want (forward/back thumbnails), and some others, plus it is easy to incorporate into and existing site. Here is a gallery that I set up for a bar here in Baltimore, and here is the same script on my personal site.

Sorry if PHP isn't what you're looking for, but you should definately consider it. There are many free off-the-shelf scripts out there that are very good.

I don't have an answer for you but please consider putting the previous and next buttons ABOVE the pictures rather than below. when they're below, the buttons become moving targets as the size of the pictures change (verticals versus horizontals). when they're above, they're in the same place on each page. The user doesn't have to chase the buttons from picture to picture.
